Goldstar Jutta Lyrics: The Kathmandu Killers is a Punk/Hardcore/Ska/Reggae/Electro playing band from Kathmandu, Nepal. They have been producing satirical songs conveying political messages, addressing social issues and discussing taboos openly with their audience. “Goldstar Jutta” is the first song from The Kathmandu Killers‘ debut EP ‘Stories From Krantipur‘. The debut EP consists of total six songs.
The Kathmandu Killers writes: “During Nepal’s 10 year civil war people were stigmatized, harassed, or tortured as suspect Maoist rebels for wearing Goldstar shoes. As we walk around Kathmandu now, it’s as if everyone’s forgotten those days. We wrote this song to remember that freedom comes with a price. In Kathmandu, the only memory of this war are Goldstar shoes. Wear them freely while you can.”
